As an island, Mallorca has a large number of wineries. What many people don’t know is that many of them also offer the possibility to celebrate your unique private event. From a business lunch to your dream wedding, here are five bodegas and vineyards that you probably didn’t know!

Terra-Ión

Among the mountains of the Sierra de Tramuntana, you can find 6 hectares of vineyards that form part of this bodega in Andratx. Terra-Ión officially started its activity in 2022 but the prior bodega was originally founded in the eighties and was one of the first pioneers in introducing French wines to the island.

At Terra-Ión you can have a wine tasting with friends or a family event. Among its vineyards there is an ideal space for intimate dinners or even a wedding ceremony.

For your event you can also enjoy their wines, which they define as high-quality and eco-friendly.

Can Axartell

This winery stands out as one of the most modern and innovative on the island, seamlessly blending Mallorquin traditional culture with contemporary architectural design and advanced winemaking techniques.

Rebuilt in 2012 by the Schwarzkopf family, the winery is renowned for its use of the gravity method, where grapes and wine move exclusively by the force of gravity. Their diverse portfolio includes one rosé, two white wines, and three red wines.

Bodega Son Vives

The bodega of Son Vives estate started in 1986, reviving the Malvasía de Banyalbufar variety. The Malvasía is one of the oldest grape varieties cultivated in many places of the Mediterranean islands. It’s a very aromatic variety with high polyphenol content, good acidity, and rich in sugars.

The winery, located close to Estellencs, between the sea and mountains, features a terrace with panoramic views and an adjacent vineyard, making it perfect for tours, tastings, and events.

Bodegas Bordoy

The history of this winery goes back to 1369 and is renowned for its unique neo-Gothic chapel, which stands between Llucmajor and Cap Blanc.

The climate in this area is semi-dry Mediterranean, characterised by very low rainfall and high sunshine, resulting in lower but higher quality grape production. Harvesting starts in mid-August with Chardonnay and ends with Cabernet Sauvignon and Callet in late September, followed by leaf fall in December as the vines enter their winter dormancy.

This is a great location to do some wine tasting together with a traditional paella.
