I have always loved working with people and traveling, which is why I decided to study Hotel Management with a focus on the tourism and hospitality industry. From the very beginning of my studies, I knew I wanted to do my internship abroad; I just didn’t know where…
One rainy summer day in Gothenburg, somewhat on a whim, I sent an application to La Paloma Event. I truly didn’t dare to expect that I would be accepted. But luckily, I was! From the very first moment, I was welcomed with open arms, and during my ten-week internship I learned an incredible amount.
Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to experience a wide variety of tasks:
Experience-based work
Organising, coordinating, and shadowing everything from guided walking tours and wine tastings to large weddings and corporate events.
Administration
Office-related tasks such as learning how to create a strong proposal, working extensively with budgeting, final cost calculations, and much more.
This mix gave me a solid overall understanding of what the event industry really looks like, and how crucial structure, a strong network, and good coordination are in order to succeed in event planning.
What truly fascinated me about the team at La Paloma Event is the way they work. They put an incredible amount of thought and energy into every single event and every client, always wholeheartedly. They are the first to arrive and the last to leave at every event they organise, which has been incredibly inspiring to witness during my internship.
Doing my internship here has been extremely valuable, and I’m leaving with so many new lessons and experiences. I truly felt at home here and have grown so much thanks to these amazing and inspiring colleagues, whom I will miss very, very much!
If you are studying tourism or events, I can wholeheartedly recommend applying for an internship at La Paloma Event.
